Isabell Helle, 80, of Maple Hill Manor, New Waterford, passed away Monday, March 21, 2005, in New Waterford Hospital. Born in New Waterford, she was the daughter of the late Frank and Euphema (MacDonald) McMullin. She was a member of Saint Agnes Church. In earlier years Isabell was a caregiver to the elderly at a seniors home in Baddeck. She enjoyed stepdancing and singing. Surviving are daughter, Germaine (John) Durdle, New Waterford; son, Johnny (Brenda) Helle, Glace Bay; sisters, Annie May McNeil, New Waterford, Mary Marciano, New Jersey, N.Y.; grandsons, John, Ontario, Kevin (Catherine)Helle, Glace Bay; greatgrandchildren, Tori and Kendra; many nieces and nephews; longtime companion, Gerald Wilson. Besides her parents, Isabell was predeceased by her husband, Palmyr Helle, sisters, Florence McNeil, Agnes Sparling, brothers, John McMullin, Ronald 'Rannie' McMullin, James McMullin in infancy. Visitation will be Wednesday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. in V.J.McGillivray Funeral Home, 380 Smith St., New Waterford. A funeral service will take place Thursday, March 24, at 2 p.m. in Saint Agnes Church with Fr. Jim Attwood officiating. A luncheon will follow in the St. Agnes Centre with burial in the parish cemetery at a later date.
