Dr. Hans Wilhelm Heinrich Helle was a medical doctor who specialized in dermatology and vernereal diseases. His medical practice was in Bochum, Westphalia, southwest of Dortmund. Having an avid interest in the genealogy of the Helle Family, he hired a genealogist to research the history and family roots in Ruethen. He edited the work in 1931 just three years before his death at the age of 48.
